Ink to Paper :: Saturday Showcase :: Ghosts & Ghoulies
Peek-a-BOO!! These little ghosts and ghoulies are popping out to say hello! They're friendly, playful spirits who obviously like to have a good time and play a bit of hide and seek. Straying from expected Halloween fare today, I've paired the Ghosts & Ghoulies collection with bright colors and smiles instead of black, orange, and ominous expressions. I think ghosts can be happy, too, especially in October! Welcome to this weekend's edition of the Ink to Paper Saturday Showcase!
To make this card, I started by creating a 4" x 5 1/2" panel that's stamped with the long brush strokes from Watercolor Textures. The skinny stroke is stamped in Orange Zest and the thicker stripe is Melon Berry. After completing that, I die cut 3 word bubbles out of the paper with the Ghosts & Ghoulies dies, and then stamped 'Boo!' in the remaining Melon Berry swatch, embossing it with white powder.
I made several of the smaller ghosts, choosing whimsical facial expressions for them, and then arranged them to peek out from the word bubbles.
There's a layer of Sweet Blush Bitty Big striped paper covering the card base, and the final touch is a bow made from Aqua Mist grosgrain ribbon. The blue against the oranges is a nice, striking contrast.
Having all of these different Halloween products has allowed me to really play around with a lot of different ideas this year and it's been really fun. Believe it or not, I'm not done, and I'll be back here (and on the Ink to Paper blog) a bit later this month with a packaging post that's dedicated to more spooky fun! Be sure to check out the blog today, though, for some other adorable takes on the Ghosts & Ghoulies stamp and die sets...
