Pinkfresh Studio :: Just a (Few) Little Lovely Tags

Packaging tags have long been a favorite project type of mine.  Like cards, there are so many different ways you can dress them up or dress them down.  They are a chance to convey that the gift you're giving is meaningful and comes from your heart, and when you can create them from items in one of the loveliest paper collections out there, putting them together is all the more enjoyable.

I've been burning through my Pinkfresh Studio Just a Little Lovely 6x6 paper pad pretty quickly, which I sort of hate to do.  I wanted to come up with a way to use the patterned paper for my tags, but use up some scraps that I had, too.  Most of the tags and coordinating paper layers were cut from remnants.

I also wanted to utilize the Gold Foiled Acetate Flowers, which I hadn't really dug into before now.  I've said it before, but it's worth repeating -- Whenever I set out to create a set of tags, I like to have a thread that ties them altogether.  This can be a color, a type of product, a shape, a layout, anything really, as long as each tag exhibits some form of it.  In this case, it's the acetate florals and the paper scraps.

To start, I cut 5 tags from the two long rectangular tag dies in the set of Classic Tags With Fillable Elements.  There are 3 with a scalloped edge and 2 with the straight edge.  The papers, as I said are from the Just a Little Lovely 6x6 paper pad, and I chose mostly simple backgrounds so as not to make the tag too busy-looking.

When I made my projects for the August Release blog hop, I had several scraps left over that were the same size after cutting out the Leafy Envelopes.  With a slight trim, those scraps nested atop the Classic Tags like they were meant to be.  It was just a matter of pairing up the right designs, again without being too overwhelming.

For once, I allowed any and all colors to join in the fun; sometimes I will stick to a rigid palette, but not this time.  I spent a few hours puttering with these tags, picking and choosing, layering, testing, pairing up different ephemera and stickers and lace and other embellishments.  It was nice and relaxing, actually, and the end result is a set of 5 tags that are very much reminders of why I still enjoy papercrafting  -- layered, textural, and so pretty to look at.

To finish off each tag, I used a length of colored seam binding, sequin trim, and some thick metallic gold thread tied through each of the tag holes.  Who doesn't love a bed of pretty trims?
