Ink to Paper :: January 2020 Release :: Day Two

Woo-hoo, it's Day 2 of the Ink to Paper January release introductions!  There's a big birthday theme happening this month, in case you couldn't tell from yesterday's intros.  Birthday themed cards are always necessary and they're usually some of the most fun ones to make!

Today we're taking a look at It's A Sign: Birthday Sentiments stamps and dies, as well as another Skinny Frame in my Border Bling collection: Embossed Frame.

For my card, I chose lots of bright colors and made a stamped background panel from the florals in the It's A Sign stamp set.  I also die cut a few of them to layer over the larger flowers.

Since the sentiments pair with the It's A Sign: Hanging and Stitched Frames dies, I used them here with my sentiment, adding another floral and some leaves to accent the frames.

Speaking of frames, I cut my skinny border frame out of Orange Zest cardstock and it makes a nice bold edge around the entire card.

Supplies:
Stamps: It's A Sign: Birthday Sentiments
Ink: Pure Poppy, Melon Berry, Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest, New Leaf
Paper: Orange Zest, White
Dies: It's A Sign: Birthday Sentiments, Border Bling: Embossed Skinny Frame, It's A Sign: Stitched Frames, It's A Sign: Hanging Frames
Other: sequins

My second card introduces the Sprinkles Galore stamp set and the It's A Sign: Happy Birthday die.  I layered the Sprinkles stamps with 3 different colors--if you place them just right, the images won't overlap and you can make a fun, super-colorful background!  With Aqua Mist, Bright Buttercup, and Pale Peony, I got a really pretty mix of sprinkles that made me want to create a shaker card.

The skinny frames are perfect for this, and while it wasn't at the forefront of my mind when I designed them, I'm very excited to have the option!  I used the Dotted Embossed frame, though it's hard to tell against the gold glitter paper I used to cut the frame.

I cut Happy Birthday from the same glittery cardstock and adhered it to the acetate cover I used to contain the sequin mix for the shaker.  The final touch was a pink twine bow.  So much fun for a simple card and I'm excited to be adding to my stash of birthday cards!
