The Stamp Market :: January Release Blog Hop :: Hearts + Flowers Gift Topper
Good morning! I hope you'll join me in celebrating The Stamp Market release day today--we're having our monthly blog hop and showcasing some of new products that are coming out today. It's always an exciting day so be sure to swing by each Design Team member's blog and then head over to the TSM store to pick up some new goodies!
My project today features the new Oh So Lovely stamp and die set. It's definitely one of the standout sets this month, especially if you love flowers! I paired it up with the Heart & Hugs die from last month for a super-pretty gift topper in some of my favorite TSM colors.
You can't go wrong with this color combination of Citrine, Peach, Melon Orange and Black. The lighter pinkish-peach of the floral trio in the middle of the bouquet is just the Peach ink stamped off on scrap paper once. It's the perfect color if you're looking for something lighter.
I color-washed some watercolor paper with the Peach ink refill, then die cut the heart for yet another shade of peach--but it's all Stamp Market! I wanted to use the inside of the heart, not just the outline so I strategically placed a few small pieces of clear tape on the back of the hearts to connect them together.
Instead of just one die cut bouquet, I made two in order to add a little extra Citrine to the background. With all the different shades or orange and peach, the yellow-green is a nice contrast. You'll also see a few Citrine enamel dots in the centers of the flowers. Of course I had to include that hand wrapped around the bouquet, if only for the black and white striped sleeve that comes with it!!
I played around for a long time with where to place the sentiments; I wanted to include them both, but with the arm, too, it seemed so cluttered at the bouquet bottom. After much deliberation, I found the perfect solution by way of one of the tags that accompanies the Made With Love set. It's just the right size for 'a gift' and the little stitched end looks adorable with the die cut heart; both of those stamps are in the Oh So Lovely set.
Tucking the end behind the bouquet stems leaves a nice amount of room for 'from me to you' and I even had some room left over where the lines of the heart criss-cross to put a little gold bow. I wrapped a small box with some black dotted gift wrap, then added some 5/8" Marigold cotton ribbon, along with a little pale pink tulle and some gold trim.
I love the way this turned out and if you love hearts and flowers, these stamps and dies should be on your shopping list today! Thank you so much for stopping by today, don't forget to visit Ashlea next. May your Sunday be lazy, friends!
