Ink to Paper :: September Release : Day One
Hey there! September is moving along so quickly--it's already time to start looking at the Ink to Paper stamp and die release for this month! Today, we're talking about Simply Sweet: Blessed, plus a brand new Tag Creations die set paired with Just Sentiments: Be Merry. Yup, we're officially heading into holiday sets this month!
While holiday sets are here, we can't leave autumn behind before it's even started, so this pretty sunflower set focused on blessings is first up. It's another sweet one by Melissa Bickford, and if you're familiar with her cardmaking, you know she loves bright colors. I took a page out of her book for this card with some bright pink and orange sunflowers that have sunny yellow leaves. Why not, right?
I watercolored a background panel by mixing Aqua Mist re-inker and water to achieve this very soft and pretty color. My sunflowers and leaves are stamped on watercolor paper which gives them a slightly weathered appearance. I arranged them around the watercolored panel, leaving a spot for my focal point, which is a tag with my sentiment and another sunflower.
The tag is from last month's Tagged & Labeled die collection and my message is from the Blessed stamp set. 'Friend' is part of a longer sentiment, but I taped off the first part so I could stamp only the single word. The little trio of dots is one of my favorite touches and that bit is also a part of the stamp set. I tied some peach baker's twine to the tag, and then added the last sunflower with some leaves. It will be a happy card to cheer up someone's bleak fall day, I hope.
Supplies:
Stamps: Simply Sweet: Blessed
Ink: Hibiscus Burst, Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest, True Black
Paper: Bright Buttercup, White, watercolor
Dies: Simply Sweet: Blessed, Tagged & Labeled, Mix & Mat: Herringbone
Other: Aqua Mist re-inker, peach twine
Up next is an adorable new Tag Creations die collection called Modern Gift and we're pairing it with Just Sentiments: Be Merry. The main die is a gift card holder (yay!) and after assembling it, you can add a bunch of pretty holiday die cuts like pine boughs, holly or poinsettias, as well as bows and tags. The sentiments in the Be Merry mini stamp set will fit on the tags.
I created 2 gift card holders out of Bitty Big patterned paper. In fact, I used patterned paper almost exclusively for this project, save for the white cardstock tags. I cut the gift card holders out of Sweet Blush and Honey Nut striped papers, then used the same colors in the plaid paper to die cut the twine lengths.
Limeade Ice and Berry Sorbet designs were used for the foliage. I love to layer my tags so I used one of each on these card holders--a long skinny one and a short fat one. I changed the sentiments on the tags, too.
These were so easy to put together, with a few different options for decorating the outside. I can see myself using these dies over and over again, and not just during the holidays!
Supplies:
Stamps: Just Sentiments: Be Merry
Ink: True Black
Paper: Honey Nut, Sweet Blush, Limeade Ice, and Berry Sorbet Bitty Big patterned papers, white cardstock
Dies: Tag Creations: Modern Gift
