Ink to Paper :: June 2020 Release :: Day Four
It's officially the weekend and it's officially the final day of Ink to Paper's June release reveal! What do you think so far? Seen anything that you can't live without?!
My first project highlights the new Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles and To Die For Sentiments: You Brighten My Life dies. The circle dies come in 3 different sizes, and all have a pretty border around them to add some interest--I can't wait to use these for tags!
I set up my card, using the two larger sizes of the circles to hold my sentiments, giving them a slight trim so that they both fit on the card. The top circle is home to a die cut sentiment, 'my dear friend,' which can be found in another of today's highlights, the aptly named Dear Friend stamp set.
On the bottom circle, you'll find the 'you brighten my life' die cut. I used blending brushes to ink up some cardstock with Melon Berry, Bright Buttercup, and Lilac Grace, and then cut the sentiment out of it. I liked these colors over the kraft paper, and made my card base from Spring Rain cardstock. Not wanting to leave the card base plain, I took a long skinny stamp with repeating short lines on it from Playful Patterns and created a random background.

Finally, we're bringing you the leafy branch stamp set, Dear Friend, another To Die For Sentiment--Hope Your Days Are Bright--and Border Bling: Tribal dies. You can create a stamped image with lots and lots of leaves using the Dear Friend set, but I made a simpler branch, deciding to ink up the stamps with a blending brush for varied color coverage. I used a blend of colors for each die: Autumn Rose with Scarlet Jewel; Orange Zest with Canyon Clay; and Sweet Blush with Raspberry Fizz. The effect is a bit like watercoloring, but it takes less time. I do love the way it turned out, though, and can't wait to use this color palette again!
I used the same blending technique for the sentiment die cut as I did on the previous card--I was in a very blendable mood, as you can see!! I trimmed tiny pieces of foam squares to stick on the back of the die cut to give it some dimension when adhering to the Enchanted Evening ink-blended background.
You may also notice a subtle texture design to the background layer, which I got from the Border Bling: Tribal die. As is, you can use the die to create a simple embossed design on your panel. If you want to cut out the frame design, pop it into the Border Bling: Basic Frame die, run it through your cutting machine, and you've got a cool embossed frame!
