sundays are for relaxing

we're having a lazy Sunday around here.  Hoss had to work today so it's just Gooby and me.  he's taking a nap right now so i thought i'd check in here for a bit.  yesterday we got up super early, went out to breakfast, and then took Mr. Bagubian to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.  i think he loved it!  i'll share some pictures later in the week--i hope they came out all right since i haven't looked at them yet.  you never know what will happen to your photos inside a darkly lit aquarium.

today, i have one more baby item to share with you.  remember the baby cards from this post that i made for the Crate Paper blog?  remember i said i made one extra that i didn't end up using?  this is it...

the only reason i decided on making a 4th card to replace this one was because i wanted to show examples of 3 different occasions and i liked this "new baby" card better...

so i made this "baby shower" card instead...

(i know you guys have seen these before...hang in there!)  you can see that the colors and some of the patterned papers are the same on the two cards but the layout is completely different.

this card, also, features a sweet deer but this one is a pink standout with flocking and a sweet yellow bow on it.  again, these products are mostly from the Little Bo Peep collection.  i used a ruler border sticker and some pink crochet trim (that is not Crate; it's just from my stash).  i love that floral "congratulations" tag.  i punched out an itty-bitty tag from a different paper with my Martha Stewart punch to layer on top of the wood veneer bow.  the "hello" and "little one" stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

the white crocheted flower is also from my stash, as are the pink tulle circle behind it and the white doily.  the pink fabric brad is from the LBP collection and is the reason i chose to add the wood veneer bow (actually from Little Boy Blue).  i also added the yellow "brand new" banner sticker, just for a small something extra.  if you have any questions about any of my cards or the products and techniques i used, please feel free to ask.  i'd be happy to answer your questions!

and if any of my baby posts have you left you drooling over the Crate baby collections, you can find most of the products at Two Peas in a Bucket.

speaking of Two Peas...the neutral "new baby" card was the featured project in their online gallery over the weekend!  i was pretty amazed and needless to say, thrilled!  i posted the baby cards up to the gallery on Friday and received a couple of nice comments about them.  i was looking at the neutral card and noticed that it had over 500 views and i was pretty certain that was a mistake.  my stuff usually only gets a few views--less than 50 in the first few days.  it certainly does not get over 500 in less than one.  so i started checking around and went to the gallery home where i was shocked to see it was the Featured Project.

and, like a dork, i had to capture this momentous occasion and take a screen shot of it!  it is not likely to happen again, after all.  and, like a bigger dork, i'm sharing it here with all of you.  if you don't visit the Two Peas Gallery often, it is filled with thousands of amazing projects by so many wonderful designers.  it is definitely worth a look if you ever want to be inspired.

happy sunday to you!
