baby tags

hi, friends!  did you have a good week?  ours went pretty well.  i managed to get a lot done in the last few days in terms of photographing projects and tidying up my Etsy shop.  i still have some work to do, but i definitely made big strides.

here on the blog i'm continuing with the baby theme and have some tags to share.  when a friend had a baby boy back in June, i made a gift tag for him which inspired this project.  i put his tag together using a few items that were just laying out on my desk.  i didn't have a plan, but i liked the end result.

it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago when i happened to see the photo of the tag that i took with my iPhone and remembered that i wanted to recreate it.  here is a picture of it tied to his gift--forgive the poor quality; i took it on the fly with my phone and have pretty bad natural light in my craft studio.

looking through my craft supplies, i found little white bags that are about the same size as the piece of card stock i used on the original.  i thought they'd be fun to decorate so i changed it up a little.

you can see they are slightly different than the original, but the idea is the same.  i hand-cut the cloud out of a patterned paper from Simple Stories Summer Fresh collection and adhered it over the stamped banner from My Mind's Eye.  i added some washi tape strips at the bottom of the bag and then used polka dot alpha stickers from Basic Grey to spell "Hi."  after stamping "baby" in Baja Breeze ink from Stampin' Up, the bag was complete.

i felt that i should put something inside the bag so took a manila tag and some paper scraps from My Mind's Eye and put it all together.  the cloud border sticker is Crate Paper, from the Neighborhood collection.  the stamps are from Papertrey Ink.

i then took it a step further and made pink and yellow tags and bags, too.  for pink, the clouds were cut from My Mind's Eye patterned paper but the letter stickers are again Basic Grey.  the ink i used for this was Cameo Coral from SU.

more MME paper and Crate Paper border Stickers for the tag.

and here's yellow...MME, Crate Paper, and Basic Grey supplies again.  The ink is Dandelion from Memento and the tiny alpha stickers on the tag are Making Memories.

i think i like the yellow tags and the blue bags the best.  these will be going up for sale in the Etsy shop and would be great to have on hand the next time you need a card for a new baby.  you can fit a tag and a gift card in the little bag, or use the clothespin to clip the set to a gift bag or a package.

speaking of the clothespins, all i did to make them was trim a piece of washi tape to fit them.  it was so easy!  i will have a mini tutorial for you next week, plus many more examples--i went a little nuts making them!

before i go, have you checked out the Crate Paper blog this week?  the design team made projects featuring neutral and natural products and colors.  you won't want to miss this--everyone did an amazing job!  have a great Friday!
