Ink to Paper :: January 2021 Release :: Day 4

It's the last day of Ink to Paper's January release introductions--that means the big day for the items to be available in the shop is tomorrow!  We're focusing on bird friends today, introducing Feathered Friends 7, so let's have a look...

This card might be my most favorite that I created this week, and it's funny, because it took a long time to get it just right!  I tried all kinds of different variations for the floral branches, scared that once I actually put the whole thing together, it wasn't going to look as good as the way it was arranged before adding adhesive and cutting off the excess bits that hung over the edges of the card.  Happily, though, after a few hours of messing with it--I'm not joking--it came together and actually looked better than what I had envisioned!

I chose yellows for this pretty hummingbird friend, and because they are attracted to red, I wanted to make some red florals for this card.  I used Springs & Sprays, which we introduced on Day One, and stamped the larger clusters with Pure Poppy ink, while the smaller ones were stamped with Raspberry Fizz.

The sentiment is found with the Feathered Friends Mini Stamp set, and is stamped on a stitched oval from the It's A Sign die collection.  I adhered everything but the oval frame with 3-D foam dots to lift them off the page and give the card some extra dimension.

Supplies:
Stamps: Feathered Friends Mini 7, Sprigs & Sprays
Ink: Bright Buttercup, Harvest Gold, Lemon Tart, Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Olive Twist, Spring Moss, True Black
Paper: Ripe Avocado, Soft Stone
Dies: Feathered Friends Mini 7, It's A Sign: Hanging Frames Stitched Layers

Well, after a little bit of a wait, that will do it--that's a wrap on this release!  It's been so much fun to play with all of Ink to Paper's new goodies; I hope you've seen something that tickles your fancy.  You can find these items tomorrow night in the Ink to Paper shop at 10pm EST.  Let's hope I see you back here next month on our regular date!

  2. Rebecca, I have really enjoyed your posts! I don’t comment enough but I’m always struck by the beautiful colors you choose for your cards. I try to remind myself to try stamping on colored cardstock more often, than the usual white.
I would probably shock you if I confessed how long it takes me sometimes to make a decision on my cards. Whether it be placement or color, I do struggle, so it was nice to hear I’m not alone. Thanks for all the lovely posts- and I Love ❤️ how this card turned out! 😊💖
