Ink to Paper :: October 2020 Release :: Day Four

Welcome to Day Four of the Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink new release introductions!  It's the last day--have you seen any new products that have caught your eye?  I've got four final projects to share with you today, revealing the last of October's goodies.

First up, we're taking a look at Feathered Friends Mini 5 stamps and dies, along with the Leaves in Fall collection.  My first project with these sets is a tag duo.  They feature the bird from FF 5 and the leafy branch stamp and die from Leaves in Fall.  Along with the smaller scaled images, there are larger dies of the round leaves and a long branch.  I used the branch to accompany the stamped stem; it's very long, about 8 inches, so I trimmed off a little bit to use on the tag.

A few tips:
1. Make patterned paper tags heavier by adhering them to a duplicate tag made from cardstock
2. All elements of the tags are the same, except the birds are stamped in opposite colors for a slight variation
3. Kick a simple tag up a notch by adding more texture like an assortment of trims and heat embossed stamping

Supplies:
Stamps:  Feathered Friends Mini 5, Leaves in Fall
Ink: Pale Peony, Autumn Rose, Scarlet Jewel, True Black, Watermark
Paper: Lilac Grace, Honey Nut, Ripe Avocado, White cardstock, Lilac Grace Bitty Big Patterned Paper
Dies: Feathered Friends Mini 5, Leaves in Fall, Charming Tags 1
Other: gold embossing powder, gold crochet thread, lace, velvet ribbon

Next up is a bold and bright card for you!  It features the bird again, along with brightly stamped leaves.  I really wanted something colorful and cheery that would pop against the kraft background.  The sentiments on both the tags and this card are from Leaves in Fall.

A few tips:
1. Make the bird pop against the warm-hued leaves by stamping it in cool-toned colors
2. Achieve dimension by lifting all die cut elements off the card base with 3-D foam adhesive
3. Introduce texture with a fabric background, like the tulle here, which adds a subtle design

Supplies:
Stamps: Feathered Friends Mini 5, Leaves in Fall
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Pale Peony, Melon Berry, Saffron Spice, Aqua Mist, Tropical Teal, True Black
Paper: Classic Kraft, White
Dies: Feathered Friends Mini 5, Leaves in Fall
Other: white tulle, confetti sequins

My final project with these stamps and dies features the larger versions of the leaves and stem.  I color washed some watercolor paper using a mix of PTI ink refills in warm colors, then cut out several leaves to adhere to the stem, which I cut out from Ripe Avocado cardstock.

I wanted to do something a little different for this project, so I decided to create some pretty gift wrap.  I started by using a blending brush and Tropical Teal ink to color some plain white printer paper.  I really wanted to try heat embossing on a gift wrapped box, so after wrapping the package with my inked up paper, I stamped the Loosely Woven background on the front of the box, then embossed it in white.  It's really subtle, and I love it.  It gives the paper an awesome texture, and a little bit of shine.  It's not overwhelming to the leaves, either, keeping them the focal point.

My final touch was the small tag, which has been embossed with a birthday wish that can be found in the FF 5 stamp set.  There's a bit of gold glitter tape along the bottom of the tag for extra detail.  Some jute twine adds a bit of a rustic tone.

A few tips:
1. Create custom-colored gift wrap with white printer paper, inks, and a blending brush
2. For a unique twist, heat emboss a stamped design on the front of a gift-wrapped box
3. I found it easier to emboss the paper after the gift was wrapped instead of before

Supplies:
Stamps: Feathered Friends Mini 5, Loosely Woven
Ink: Tropical Teal, Watermark
Paper: Ripe Avocado, watercolor, heavy white printer paper (8 1/2" W x 11" H)
Dies: Leaves in Fall, Charming Tags 1
Other: Summer Sunrise, Melon Berry, Harvest Gold, Bright Buttercup, Berry Sorbet ink refills, blending brush, paint brush, white embossing powder, rustic jute twine, gold glitter tape

We're saved several items for last: Folky Holiday stamps, dies, and Alphabet dies, along with Feather Friends 5 bird die set, and Just Sentiments: He is Born.  Whew!  I went with another very colorful card for this one, and the Folky Holiday collection is awesome for adding bits of color to your projects!

I cut out letters to spell out 'Joyeux' from white cardstock, and 6 different colored stocks, stamping images on the white letters in their matching ink colors.  I love the way they turned out!

I assembled the bird in matching colors, also, then stamped and die cut a few colorful florals to create a scene around the little blue 'nest' (from Joyous Holiday, which we introduced on Day Two).  It makes the sweetest perch for the bird.

To the left of the perch is just enough room for an embossed 'O Holy Night' sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Folky Holiday, Just Sentiments: He is Born
Ink: Melon Berry, Aqua Mist, Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus Burst, New Leaf, Pale Peony, Watermark
Paper: Melon Berry, Aqua Mist, Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus Burst, New Leaf, Pale Peony, Pure Poppy, White
Dies: Folky Holiday, Folky Holiday Alphabet, Feather Friends 5, Joyous Holiday
Other: white embossing powder, red twine
