Ink to Paper :: Release Day One
Hi there! I'm so super-excited to be posting today--I've officially joined the Ink to Paper DT so I get to help out with the monthly releases--YAY!!!! It's Day One of the June release and there's lots of good stuff to preview today.
More of: Celebrating You is an add-on from May's Celebrating You stamp and die collection. It features cute balloons and some additional sentiments, and it pairs well with another new set called Confetti & Streamers.
I love the idea of gold-embossed confetti and streamers and sometimes there’s nothing better with gold than pink! I used Hibiscus Burst and Pale Peony as my pink hues for this fun, festive, and happy card. The confetti is embossed on a panel of linen vellum and adhered over a Hibiscus Burst card base. I was able to get a little extra shine and lift by adhering the die cut balloons with 3-D foam dots on top of duplicate die cuts trimmed from Luxe Gold Foil cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Pale Peony ink.
Supplies:
Stamps: More Of: Celebrating You, Confetti & Streamers
Ink: Hibiscus Burst, Pale Peony, WaterMark
Paper: Hibiscus Burst, Luxe Gold Foil, White, Linen Vellum
Dies: More Of: Celebrating You
Other: gold embossing powder, 3-D foam adhesive dots

My second card features another sentiment from More of: Celebrating You set--New Baby--because there’s so much to celebrate when it comes to a new baby! The star-shaped balloons are so fitting for baby boys, so I chose shades of blue and green to stamp the stars, as well as the die cut ribbon tails, and clustered them all together with a ‘New Baby’ tag.
I die cut a bunch of star-shaped balloons and applied my ink to them by brushing it on the stamp with a blending brush. Doing it this way creates a softer, almost watercolor-ish look. With the white-embossed confetti and streamers in the background, there's no mistaking the excitement and anticipation a baby brings.
Supplies:
Stamps: More Of: Celebrating You, Confetti & Streamers
Ink: Limeade Ice, Hawaiian Shores, Enchanted Evening, WaterMark
Paper: Limeade Ice, white cardstock
Dies: More Of: Celebrating You, Essential Tags
Other: white embossing powder, 3-D foam adhesive dots
My last card with these stamps is a really simple one, but I love it just as much as the other two, more detailed pieces. Thick, layered cards are what I most often create, but there are times when clean and simple do the trick just as well. I stamped a pattern of pretty balloons in pastel inks with a get well sentiment for something subtle, but cheerful, which is my favorite approach to healing, thoughtful cards.
I achieved the softer color palette by stamping off (ink up the stamp, stamp once on scrap paper, stamp image on card stock). It was done here with the Bright Buttercup and Orange Zest inks. I created the background by stamping each balloon image multiple times. I chose 'get well wishes' embossed on a band of vellum, but this is a great design for multiple occasions--change it to 'happy birthday,' 'celebrate,' or even switch out the colors for a masculine or neutral palette instead.

Today, we're also giving you a look at the new Garden Party and Watercolor Textures: Dots collections. I'll fully admit to falling in love with the color scheme of my last card and Garden Party kept me in a festive mood! On that last card I did no die cutting at all, while on this card, die cutting is a huge part of the design.
I cut out several banners in warm, bright colors, then watermark inked each one with dots or stripes. On the bottom Pale Peony garland, I cut out 3 extra triangle flags in white cardstock and stamped Y-O-U on them, adhering them to that banner. (The stamp set comes with a complete upper and lowercase alphabet!)
I stamped and die cut the 'let's celebrate' sentiment, adhering it over a trio of colorful balloons from More of: Celebrating You. On the balloons, I stamped some simple watercolor texture dots--I can't wait to use that stamp set all the time!!! I finished off the card with a few gold sequins and a metallic gold bow.

Stamps: Garden Party, Watercolor Textures: Dots
Ink: Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus Burst, WaterMark
Paper: Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus Burst, Pale Peony, Orange Zest, white cardstock
